Hi readers! Greetings from my Spanish tour, which I just started. This month I will be posting photos and videos, because it is impossible to edit the Substack posts on an iPad! The above video was taken in front of the arc de Triomf in Barcelona. There is still a Catalonian independence movement, which dates back to the 17th century rebellion against the Spanish crown, then later against the Franco regime that sought to eliminate their culture. They are singing a Catalan folk song, with the audience enthusiastically joining in. The lyrics I have posted above are to the Catalonia national anthem.
