It sounds so easy. And it is. So easy, it's hard. But is discipline a separate, necessary component? Or a given? If this, then that? Preparation, concentration, intent will yield relaxation. But one must have discipline to prepare. I think. What do you think?

My argument, which perhaps deserves its own article instead of the one sentence in this one, is that anyone is capable of preparing. Even the most undisciplined person can utilize preparation. The way, though, is not intellectual. Rather, it’s through the emotional center.

It looks like I will have to write a separate article on this…

The fault must be my misunderstanding, Su. By preparation, as it relates to us in music in particular, is the comfort level I earn when practicing, so that I can execute what I want to play without thinking about it. Is this way off base?

Right, we earn a comfort level by preparing.

I can vouch for Zen Mind for sleep also. I also use GABA from Now, which is much cheaper.

Very interesting article, Su. Didn’t put me to sleep at all.

Jonathan I hope my articles are not tending toward the soporific....

Far from it.

The Zone, The Groove, Taksu, Rasa: many words decribing the same feeling. the more one prepares, the more one can let go at the precise, right moment, reaching that outwordly level. great post, TQ
